Deschutes County Libraries
We believe that the best experiences for young people (and, actually, everyone) are those that are at once familiar and strange. Here, a set of stacked boxes alludes to a record player, a filing cabinet, a microwave, a television, and a suitcase, while never quite being any of those. Our system of objects and spaces for the library aimed to create a sense of belonging, but just slightly skewed, offering windows into other worlds by using ordinary objects and spaces, slightly reconfigured, to create portals to sources of wonder.
