Soundstack

Housed inside a decommissioned smokestack, the Soundstack is a massive, collaborative musical instrument that encourages players to use their whole body to engage with the art and science of the vibrating string. For this project, done in collaboration with the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, we drew on our own backgrounds in instrument design and music performance, and collaborated with composer/educator Tylor Neist on developing methods for exploring the physicality, scale, and intimacy of producing music.

Primary project partners include: Hammer & Hand, Glowbox, Amy Ruppel, Nathan Paul Rice
