Lenses on the Sky

Lenses on the Sky aims to gently shift the narrative of space exploration from an alienating one of “man’s triumph over nature,” as it has so often been presented, into one of expansive exploration into ancient history and the coming future. Produced for the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry in collaboration with NASA, this exhibitions pairs the study of space science with cultural stories from across the globe—curated and shared by the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde, the Namaqua Khoikhoi and Maya scholars—to show how humans across time have interpreted the stars and imagined space.

Primary project partners include: Skylab Architecture, Glowbox, Kirsten Southwell, Greg Archueleta, the design and fabrication shop at OMSI
